Running your Illustration Business

We will discuss how to run an illustration enterprise from a business perspective. We will explore how to sustain yourself financially with commissioned work and as well as how to design and apply your illustrations onto products in order to sell and support yourself as an independent maker. We will look at the benefits of forming an illustration collective with your peers, self-publishing, and how to create a small print runs of books and zines. 

 

How to Build a Portfolio

Drawing from Text to Final Artwork

In this session we will look at the process of responding to a brief, starting with how to get the most important information from the text as well as how to generate ideas for your first initial sketches. Followed by how to develop these drawings into a finalised artwork.
